Eligibility
CSEG is proud to support the Air Force Sergeants Association (AFSA) Gives Back program through the Family Focused Scholarship.
The Family Focused Scholarship is open to all Air Force Sergeants Association members in the family member (FM) category. Applicants must demonstrate how receiving the scholarship would add to their lives and how the scholarship would help them meet their educational goals.
- Eligible candidates must have a high school transcript or equivalent (GED)
- Scholarship applicants must be available to begin their coursework within six months of the date of the award.
- Capable of maintaining a 2.0 undergraduate GPA or 3.0 graduate GPA
- Remain in good standing with CSU/Waldorf throughout his or her degree program
- Acceptable Verification Documentation Includes:
- Copy of a Tricare Card
- Copy of Orders
- Letter from the Military Member’s Command
Approving Authority: An independent selection board.
Scoring: Categories are scored as indicated after each category heading.
Awards
The scholarship will cover up to $23,700 in one online degree program (associate, bachelor, or master) at either Columbia Southern University or Waldorf University.
The scholarship will be directly applied to the recipient’s tuition for up to 60 semester hours or 36 consecutive months in the selected online degree program, whichever comes first.
This scholarship covers tuition only. Textbooks and fees are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient. The goal of the Family Focused Scholarship is to provide AFSA family members an affordable method to achieve their academic goals and aspirations.
Application Dates
The scholarship application will open on January 1 of each year. All applications/scholarship essays must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. on May 27, 2022. The selection process will end on June 27, 2022.

William H. Pitsenbarger Heroism Award Scholarship
Sponsored in partnership with American Military University (AMU).
Presented annually at the AFSA Professional Education and Development Symposium, this scholarship is awarded to the A1C William H. Pitsenbarger Award recipient.

Kaleth O. Wright Excellence In Leadership Scholarship
Presented annually at the AFSA Professional Education and Development Symposium, this scholarship is awarded to an individual who shows great potential for increased leadership roles. In addition, the individual is dedicated to continuous improvements of themselves, others, base and community.
This scholarship contains 60 semester hours that can be used towards an associate's, bachelor's, or master’s degree. The scholarship is valued at $24,600.

TSgt Virgil Perry AFSA Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) of the Year

Presented annually at the AFSA Professional Education and Development Symposium, this scholarship is awarded to the TSgt Virgil Perry AFSA Non-Commissioned Officer of the year award recipient.
This scholarship contains 60 semester hours that can be used towards an associate's, bachelor's or master’s degree The scholarship is valued at $25,200.

SSgt Donald Ward AFSA Airman of the Year Scholarship
Sponsored by Waldorf University
Presented annually at the AFSA Professional Education and Development Symposium, this scholarship is awarded to the SSgt Donald Ward AFSA Airman of the Year recipient.
This scholarship contains 60 semester hours that can be used towards an associate's, bachelor's or master's degree. The scholarship is valued at $25,200.

Air-Force Recruiting Service Blue Suit Scholarship

Presented annually at the AFSA Professional Education and Development Symposium, this scholarship is awarded to an Air Force Recruiting Services Recruiter for outstanding achievements.
This scholarship contains 60 semester hours that can be used towards an associate's, bachelor's, or master’s degree. The scholarship is valued at $25,200.
